Crook and Weardale Ramblers

We are a local group based in County Durham in the Northern Pennines of England, an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB).  David Bellamy, who lives in our area, describes this area as the last great wilderness of England. The 74 mile long Weardale Way runs through our area and ends on the coast at Sunderland. Our group currently has 81 members and our committee meet four times a year to deal with any problems and to organise a programme of walks ranging from 5-13 miles and covering the Lake District to the Yorkshire Dales as well as local walks in the Wear Valley. New members are always welcome. Please contact the leader if you wish to join a walk at its starting point or require any further information. More details on our membership and walks pages.
